Wedding planning can be insanely stressful with all the details you have to coordinate and all the projects you have to do… but it doesn’t have to be. There are many ways to avoid a major wedding planning melt down.

1) Map it All Out
Make a schedule. Set up a plan. Create a checklist. Stay on top of your plan as much as possible and don’t procrastinate. If you find yourself falling behind on your schedule, don’t stress. Everything will get done in time. I promise. There are plenty of helpful tools out there for this, here are a couple:
2) Let Go
You can’t do all of this alone, let other people help. If it’s in your budget, hire a wedding coordinator. Yes, you are a control freak, but it’ll lighten the load on your shoulders if other people can help you figure things out.
3) Designate wedding free days
It’s impossible to be all wedding, all the time. Set aside days where you don’t do any wedding plan. Give yourself a break. Plan something fun to do on those days and give yourself some stress free time. This will allow you to come back refreshed and ready to go.
4) Take a Break
If you find yourself starting to get worked up, take a break! You’re not going to get anything done if you keep working during your meltdown. Take a deep breath and focus on something else completely different. Calming yourself down for a bit is only go to make you more productive.
5) Work Out
It’s just like taking a break. Working out and exercising can be an amazing stress reliever. Go for a walk or a run, or even to the gym. It’ll help you de-stress so when you’re ready to get back to work, you’ll be more productive. Plus, it keeps you healthy and wedding ready!
Just remember what this all is for. You’re planning a wedding not for other people, but to celebrate the new life you and your partner are going to live. Remember why you’re doing this and stop worrying about the how. Remember you only get to do this once, so make the most of it.
